Our Team
Lindsey Vance, Ph.D.
Lindsey Vance, Ph.D. has more than a decade's worth of experience working with nonprofit organizations on issue advocacy, social justice, community change, and economic development. She has experience in marketing, fundraising, strategic planning and applied research. Lindsey began her career at The World Affairs Council, where she was responsible for promoting the Global Policy Forum and annual conference at Asilomar. In 2007 she initiated a decade of work in Latin America as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Amigas del Sol, a Guatemalan women’s organization. In 2016 Dr. Vance received her Ph.D. in political science. Her research employs qualitative and quantitative methods to explain the effects of the nonprofit sector on political participation and equitable policy outcomes in the United States and internationally.
Before moving to South Carolina, Lindsey was an instructor at the University of Colorado where she taught graduate and undergraduate classes on research methods, public policy, and gender politics. While in Colorado, she began her work as an independent consultant working with international aid organizations to evaluate program outcomes and recommend organizational strategies to maximize impact. Lindsey served as the Director of Data and Strategy at Teach For America from 2016 - 2019. In 2019 she left Teach For America to be a full time evaluation consultant.
As an independent evaluator Lindsey draws on her research background and nonprofit experience to facilitate data-driven decision making to improve organizational performance. She has presented at national and international conferences, including the American Political Science Association's Annual Conference, the Latin American Studies Annual Conference, and the Ashoka U Exchange Conference. She has written numerous white papers on issues such as women’s empowerment, poverty, economic and racial inequity, and social change, and her research has been published in Gender and Society. Dr. Vance received her Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from the University of Colorado, and she holds a B.A. in government and environmental studies from the College of William and Mary.

Managing Partner/COO
Nell DeVito, MA, MCC, CMT-P, embodies a profound dedication to fostering connection and resilience. With over two decades of international work experience spanning four continents, Nell has emerged as a leading figure in the fields of leadership and human development in the areas of change making, education, politics and business.

Nell has extensive expertise in the realm of organizational and system design and implementation within mission driven public and private sector organizations. Her academic background includes a BA in Integrative Studies and Spanish from George Mason University, complemented by an MA in International Relations and World Order from the University of Leicester in the UK.

In addition to her practical experience, Nell is a certified mindfulness awareness trainer through the University of California, Berkley and an alumna of the UVA's prestigious Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership and was most recently a Senior Fellow at The Bio-Leadership Project in Bristol, England. She holds the designation of Master Certified Coach with the International Coaching Foundation, reflecting her commitment to guiding individuals, organizations, and communities towards measurable and sustainable results.

Nell is an active member of her local community and as the member of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation Strategic Planning and Social Innovation Advisory Board and former President of Project Grows, she drove change and innovation over the course of her service to both organizations. Her personal mission is rooted in the belief that by empowering individuals to connect with themselves and others, we can create a more resilient planet and equitable and just communities in which all can thrive.
Courtney Arrington
CFO
Mpowrd's Director of Finance is Courtney Arrington, a certified public accountant with a strong foundation in accounting earned from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016. With a diverse background spanning both public and private accounting sectors, Courtney specializes in serving small consulting firms, social media influencers, and solopreneurs. Her areas of expertise include tax planning and financial forecasting.

Courtney believes that accounting is the heartbeat of any business, and is passionate about helping others understand their numbers to achieve their goals. Her favorite part of the job is empowering others to make informed decisions by providing clear insights into their financial health.

Previously, Courtney served as a senior accountant in the insurance industry where she performed the accounting over a $75B investment portfolio. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where majored in accounting and graduated Cum Laude.
Devon Bergen
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT AND RESEARCH
At Mpowrd Analytics, Devon Bergen is applying her broad experience in human development programs, serving as the Director, Community Engagement and Research. Traveling, studying and working across six continents during the past six years, Devon has a unique understanding of the complex needs and dynamics of nonprofits and other mission-driven social organizations.
From Trenton, NJ and the Charleston tri-county to Kenya, Morocco and Tanzania, she has experience, both domestically and internationally, as a communications analyst, stimulating awareness and engagement for community development initiatives across the nonprofit sector. While pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Administration at the College of Charleston, Devon applies theoretically-grounded research and solutions on behalf of Mpowrd Analytics and its clients. Devon is committed to promoting human-centered organizational performance by leveraging education and communication as a means for community growth.
